FAQ

Recycling 101: Say no to plastic bags!

Can you put the dumpster on the street?

Each town has different regulations, permit requirements, and other restrictions regarding dumpsters on streets and other private property. KTM Exteriors is not responsible for obtaining these permissions — we highly recommend you contact your local municipality for further information on regulations and costs.

How high can I load my dumpster?

We like to use the “cover on a lid” analogy. Safely transporting these dumpsters requires a cover — like boxing up your leftovers for the fridge. We won’t be able to put a lid on it if it’s piled too high!

What can I not put in the dumpster?

A full list will be detailed in your Dumpster Agreement, but items such as:
Corrosive materials or liquids
Liquids of any kind
Propane tanks
Medical waste
Animal carcasses
Extremely heavy material (i.e., rock, gravel)

If your disposal needs fall into this category, we can have an additional discussion around disposing of these kinds of materials in an efficient manner.

Will there be damage to my driveway or landscaping?

There are a variety of variables that go into the possibility of damage to your property in situations like these. We try our absolute best to ensure Signed Dumpster Agreement.
Given direction or a marked space on property for dumpster’s location (**NOTE: if you are not going to be home day of, PLEASE LET US KNOW!)
Please Remember “Cover on a Lid”: we have to cover the dumpster for transportation

Are there any items billed separately?

Yes. While a full list can be provided in your Dumpster Agreement, items like appliances, A/C units, computers, and tires are billed at an additional cost.

**IMPORTANT: If you are including any of the separately billed items outlined in the Dumpster Agreement in your dumpster, we ask that you put these at the TOP of the dumpster so we can quickly identify these items!**

How long can I rent my dumpster for?

Unless stated otherwise in your Dumpster Agreement, our initial rental periods are two (2) weeks. But you can keep the dumpster as long as you need to — after two weeks, we will bill you on a weekly basis.

How is the pick-up and drop-off process coordinated?

A time window will be coordinated for when the dumpster will be picked up and dropped by KTM Exteriors. If there is a specific time window you would like, please call us the day before.

For Pick-Up: Please give KTM Exteriors a 48-hour notice for when you would like your dumpster picked up

Can I relocate my dumpster if needed?

Of course! If you need it moved to a different location on your property, we charge a small fee (it’s heavy!) for relocation. If you need the dumpster relocated to another location, we will charge $150.
